New Kids Concert Memphis July 2009
I never even posted a blog on Memphis! I can't believe I didn't! I had such a great time there. I met a lot of great girls, ran into Jessee McCartney at my hotel, saw a lot of things I have never seen before, and finally did a NKOTB meet and greet. It was a week I will never forget!
Starts out that Shannon and I decide to go, so she drives up from Charlotte, NC to my house in VA and we roll out to Tennessee. We stop in Blountville, TN at a Sonic. Our waitress had big blonde southern hair and Shannon ordered a banana. Of course, I tweeted it! We then picked up Mary Beth
and Savannah and off to Nashville. We decided to stop in Nashville because of the long drive to Memphis. We tour
ed the down town area and see all the sights and sounds that is Nashville. I got inappropriate with Elvis, we saw the Batman building downtown, and ate at Hard Rock Cafe after a looong day and evening on the road. But, I forgot the best part. My hubby didn't want me painting up the van with all kinds of NKOTB craziness, but guess what, we did it anyway!
So, I'm sure you are ready to see my inappropriate self with Elvis! Not going to happen, that stays on the personal facebook page. LOL! But, it's pretty funny. So, the next day we make the loooong drive to Memphis. It was rough, but Donnie tweeted and gave us all renewed hope that we may get facetime outside of meet and greet. But, we were saddened because our men were getting sick too. On the road, we saw a U-Haul that had wrecked and all the furniture was scattered all over the road. I felt soooo bad for them!
But, we get to Memphis, change clothes and head out to explore the city.
It was sooo hot, but it was pretty! We caught the train down to Beale Street to eat at Pig. This restaurant had some great BBQ and the Blue Moon beer was great too! Shannon started that with me and got me hooked.
So, then we head out looking around Beale. Did you know that there are cameras on Beale that people can watch the activities there online? Did you know that on Beale Street you can get a beer to go? Did you know that you can hear all kinds of blues music on Beale? Did you know that you can buy voodoo dolls there? Did you know that Beale is one of the safest places in Memphis afterdark and really no where else? The night we hit Beale, we hit on bike night. There were all kinds of pretty bikes lining the streets of Beale that night.
We then head to the bar where we were meeting all the blockheads. We first met Mirna. She's such a kind soul. Silky Sullivan's was the name of the bar. I think there were like 30 girls there! It was an awesome turnout! Some of the girls got "The Diver"
Well, we goof off, then leave the bar and go to Wet Willies. I got a drink "Call a Cab." This was sooo strong. I don't think I could handle too many more of them.
Then we go off to karaoke on Beale Street as well. So, we became known as the "Blocktourage." That name has stuck with us even to this day. I love my Blocktourage girls. They will forever be in my heart. Well, I meet tons of girls and to name a few: Dawn, Karen, Mirna, Susana, Katrina, Shea, Brandy, Vanessa, Tina, Angela. Needless to say, it was a great time all around. Put it this way, me, Mirna, Shannon, Susana, and Joy wound up riding to West Memphis, Arkansas to a Waffle House and ate there with our cab driver at 3 a.m. and I passed out in the bathroom. So, um yeah. But, we get back to the hotel and there's a tour bus outside of it. The bus belonged to Jesse McCartney. Well, the lil prick wouldn't come off his bus and sent his manager in the hotel for the staff to tell us to go to our rooms so he could come off his bus. We were outside hanging out and my girl Savannah wanted some facetime with him. So, I told the hotel security guy that we paid for our room just like Mr. Jesse McCartney did and I was not a child being sent to my room. Well, he came off the bus and I said to him:"Jesse, you have only 1 fan standing here wanting to take a picture with you, do you think you can manage that?" He obliged Savannah and took the pic. I was happy for her!

We go to bed and get some rest. We get up to get ready and hear about mens tweeting about the things they see in Memphis. Jordan liked the pyramid and was wondering why there was one in Memphis. I don't know either.
So we get ready and go to the show. Meet and greet was ok. I had 8th row center seats. I tweeted that they sucked, but when I got to my seat, I love it! I had a great seat. Check out the pic I got of Wahlberg and his beeer.
So, the show was hot, I did my meet and greet and I'm done. Well, not done with New Kids, just this blog. lol
