Virginia Beach NKOTB Concert June 5, 2009

I'm so late putting this out and I'm so sorry. It's not like I have a lot of followers, but I did promise on Twitter that I would get out my experience in VA Beach and so here it is!!!
I am going down 64 to VA Beach and get a tweet that Donnie Wahlberg is at the Guadalajara eating lunch. Well, then my phone blows up. I called Jenn to google the address so I could put it in my GPS, I'm going crazy because I am behind a wreck in bumper to bumper traffic, and GOING CRAZY!!! Donnie Wahlberg was not even 10 minutes from me and I'm stuck!!! So, I go into the emergency lane and drive down it passing everyone. I get a lot of middle fingers thrown up at me, horn blowing, and I'm praying the whole time a cop doesn't see me. I get out of traffic, call my friend Susie whose friend scored free passes from Donnie to the afterparty, who says he's leaving. OH SNAP!! So, I get to the restaurant as he is leaving! I'm soooo upset!
So, I get to the hotel (which is across the street from the restaurant) and get out the car to go to the room. I'm calling my bish Amber to find out where they were because they were Wahlberg stalking as well. They are like 20 feet from me in the parking garage. So, I break into a run, on a downward slope to them to give some LOVE! I hugged Amber first because she caught me (lol) and then on to Erin, then Jess!! We go to the room to make our posters that Donnie had said to make for our chance to get free passes to the afterparty.
We go to the arena and it's HOT! There was a radio station there that says they are giving away a front row seat. You had to stick your hand in the money machine with a bunch of paper flying around in it. If you picked the paper that said NKOTB on it, then you won the seat. Well, no one got it. As people pulled the paper out, they put the same losing papers back in. I don't think they had a pass.
Well, Amber, Mal, and I hung outside the arena while Erin and Jess went in for VIP. The radio DJ's loved us because we sung and danced like usual. But, as soon as the gates were ready to open, the skies opened up. It wouldn't be a NKOTB concert or event without the rain. It POURED down rain. So, if we weren't sticky wet from sweat, then it was the rain doing it! Thank God I planned ahead and brought a poncho and umbrella-I almost poked a few eyes out with it! Gates open and we wade, and I'm not joking WADE, to our seats. The rain was standing a good 3 inches in the walkway. We get food, drink, and find seats. And let me add that I am so thankful that my friend Amber watched out for me. She gave me a lawn seat, then there were people going around with tickets that we could buy to upgrade our lawn seat to a covered seat for $10! I did, of course.
Jabbas came out first, then Jesse McCartney, and then NKOTB. I'm not going to post too much here because I know there are friends of mine who have not seen the show and I don't want to spoil them. This show is so much more than it was in the fall and spring. OMG!!!!! I LOVED IT!! I danced and sang and left hoarse. I will say they come out into the audience and I got some good Jon shots.
We left the show and went to the hotel. I showered and we stalked about outside the afterparty. I was not paying $50 to get in general admission and $12 drinks. NOT! We saw Donnie working the crowd. We hung outside and saw the Jabbas and the dancers. Ethan (@ebassman) and Rob (@youngq) outisde. I gave hugs and kisses to them and we got a pic with Rob. Some stupid girl was talking to one of the Jabba's trying to get with him and the whole time she stalked around like she had ants in her pants and stepped in puke the whole time. DUMB! Amber and Jess thought I was going to get a fight started because I made sure she heard what I said. LOL!
Donnie came out the back door of the bar around 4 a.m. He gave Jess a big ol hug! She was so happy! No facetime for me this time, but I've got Memphis coming up! I can't wait! Donnie gave hugs and waved as he got onto his bus.
Back to the hotel for 4 hours of sleep, then on the road again. Life of a groupie. LOL! That is so not me.
