What About Your Friends?
Tonight, I decided to FINALLY update my blog! It's been awhile. Something has been on my mind lately. Friends. How many I have, how many are true, how many are there for me when I need them. These are all good qualities to have in a friend, but what about the ones that live far away? Can you still be besties? I've learned over the years that friends come and go, you will have those who are not truly your friends, and those who are just there out of convinience. Sadly for me, most of my best friends live far away or we are just so busy we can't find time for each other. That presents another question, am I a good friend for not taking time out for girl time? So, I want to take the time to give a shout out to some of my friends who have been there for me on this road called life.
This is Melissa. She and I have been friends from waaaaay back when. We actually met online back in the late 90's when the internet first hit the scene. We met in a chat room called Virginian Online Town Square. She and I hit it off and became instant sisters. She and I were very close until about 13 years ago. We had some stupid tiff and stopped talking. She contacted me back in the spring because she was getting married!!!! She swept the Purvis clan off it's feet and invited us down to her wedding. I felt right back at home with her. Didn't get to spend as much time as I would have liked to have, but we will do that soon. It was great seeing each other again because we pretty much picked up where we left off. I love this girl HARD!!!!
This girl is Bridget. She and met while working in nursing home hell a few years back and she is my ride or die girl. I love her so much! I can talk to her about anything, anytime, and she never judges. She gives me the truth straight, and is a true friend. We've had a few adventures together and I'm hoping for many more.
This is Leann and she and I have been friends since we were kids. Me and this chick have beat the crap out of each other, lived together, experienced lots of first things together, and she is my bestest friend. I'm so proud of this girl. Me and her grew up together in a trailer park with next to nothing and both of us have went and graduated from nursing school, are awesome mothers and wives, and have our act together. She will always be my Petunia while singing Lisa Loeb.
